Israeli army kills Palestinian in West Bank: sources

RAMALLAH, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Israeli army on Friday killed a Palestinian man in the West Bank city of Al-Bireh, Palestinian medical and security sources said.

"Mohammed Jibril Ramana died due to serious injuries sustained by Israeli army's live bullets," the Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement.

The ministry added that another man was slightly injured in the incident.

Palestinian security sources said that the Israeli army fired live bullets at two young men at the entrance to Psagot settlement in the West Bank city of Al-Bireh.

Palestine: Hamas To Request For Municipal Elections In Gaza For First Time In 18 Years

GAZA, Sept 28 (NNN-WAFA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), is planning to send an official request to the Palestinian Authority, to hold municipal elections in Gaza, for the first time in 18 years, a Palestinian official said yesterday.

Hazem Qassem, a Hamas spokesman, said in a press statement that, the group had agreed with all other Palestinian factions, to send a message to the government in Ramallah, demanding to hold municipal elections in Gaza.

UN Envoy Expresses Deep Concern Over Gaza-Israel Border Tension

GAZA, Sept 28 (NNN-WAFA) – UN special coordinator, Tor Wennesland, yesterday, expressed his deep concern over the tensions on Gaza’s eastern border with Israel.

“I am deeply concerned by the escalating tensions in and around Gaza,” Wennesland, the UN special coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, wrote in a post on his X account, calling for efforts to avoid another conflict that will have grave consequences for all.

Two More Palestinians Killed, In Clashes With Israeli Soldiers In West Bank

RAMALLAH, Sept 25 (NNN-WAFA) – Two more Palestinians were killed and an Israeli soldier wounded, during exchange of fire in the West Bank city of Tulkarm yesterday, according to Palestinian and Israeli sources.

“Osaid Abu Ali, 21, and Abdul Rahaman Abu Daghash, 32, were killed, after being shot in their heads with live bullets by the Israeli soldiers, who stormed the Noor Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm,” said Ameen Khader, the director of Tulkarm Hospital.

Palestine: Archaeologists unearth the largest cemetery ever discovered in Gaza and find rare lead sarcophogi

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Palestinian workers in the Gaza Strip have found dozens of ancient graves, including two sarcophagi made of lead, in a Roman-era cemetery — a site dating back some 2,000 years that archaeologists describe as the largest cemetery discovered in Gaza.

Workers came upon the site last year during the construction of an Egyptian-funded housing project near Jabaliya, in the northern Gaza Strip. Since then, crews have worked to excavate the 2,700-square-meter (2/3 acre) site with the support of French experts.

UN Chief To Visit Palestinian Territories Next Month

RAMALLAH, Sept 22 (NNN-WAFA) – UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, will visit the Palestinian territories in October.

Guterres informed Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, of his upcoming visit, during a meeting on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

It will be Guterres’ first visit to Palestine since 2017, when he travelled to both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli Regime Demolishes Three Palestinian Houses In West Bank: Sources

RAMALLAH, Sept 19 (NNN-WAFA) – The Israeli regime demolished yesterday, three Palestinian houses in the West Bank, over building without permits, Palestinian sources said.

Two houses, including an inhabited one and one under construction, were demolished in the village of Beit Dajan, east of Nablus city in the West Bank, while the third house was located in Jericho city, according to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation.

U.S. hegemony creates unstable situations worldwide -- Palestinian official

RAMALLAH, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- The hegemony policy adopted by the United States has been creating unstable situations in the world, a senior Palestinian official has said.

In a recent interview with Xinhua, Abbas Zaki, a Palestinian Fatah Central Committee member and commissioner for relations with Arab countries and China, said, "The U.S. has dealt with other countries in the spirit of hegemony and military power."

Israel withheld $800m in Palestinian funds since 2019: minister

Israeli warplanes strike Palestine watchtower in Gaza

16 September 2023; MEMO: Israeli warplanes on Friday targeted a Palestinian watchtower near the east side of Gaza City, security sources disclosed, reporting no human casualties.

The airstrike came following a demonstration organised by hundreds of youths along the Gaza fence in support of Al-Aqsa Mosque and solidarity with Palestinian hunger strikers inside Israeli jails.
