24 August 2023; MEMO: The US said, Wednesday, it is “alarmed” after a video appeared to show Israeli forces shooting a Palestinian in the back of his head during a raid in the Occupied West Bank, Anadolu Agency reports.

RAMALLAH/GAZA, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli army Wednesday arrested 20 Palestinians, including members of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the West Bank, a Palestinian association said.

In a statement sent to Xinhua, the Palestinian Prisoner's Club Association, a non-government organization, said that Israeli army forces stormed dozens of houses in the West Bank cities of Ramallah, Jenin, Nablus and Hebron.

JENIN, West Bank (AP) — Last month, after the biggest Israeli military raid on a Palestinian refugee camp in the occupied West Bank in years, Palestinians turned their wrath on their own security forces.

They unleashed gunfire, firebombs and pipe bombs at Palestinian security buildings in an outpouring of rage against the Palestinian Authority’s failure to protect them from the devastating July 3 raid and a long-running, deeply unpopular security alliance with Israel.

17 August 2023; MEMO: The UK, on Thursday, criticised Israel for demolishing a school in the Occupied West Bank, calling on Tel Aviv to ensure Palestinian children’s right to education, Anadolu Agency reports.

“All children have a right to education. The UK calls on the government of Israel to uphold this right for Palestinian children,” the British Consulate in Jerusalem said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

JIFTLIK, West Bank (AP) — Across the dusty villages of the occupied West Bank, where Israeli water pipes don’t reach, date palms have been left to die. Greenhouses are empty and deserted. Palestinians say they can barely get enough water to bathe their children and wash their clothes — let alone sustain livestock and grow fruit trees.

In sharp contrast, neighboring Jewish settlements look like an oasis. Wildflowers burst through the soil. Farmed fish swim in neat rows of ponds. Children splash in community pools.

17 August 2023; MEMO: China yesterday donated $1 million to Palestinian refugees in Gaza, the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said.

China, UNRWA said, is supporting the agency’s education programme for 5,300 child refugees in five schools across the Gaza Strip.

17 August 2023; MEMO: Israeli occupation forces this morning demolished a Palestinian school in the occupied West Bank under the pretext that it lacked the necessary building license, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Education.

The Israeli authorities demolished Ein Samia School, located east of Ramallah, which provides educational services to a number of students in the Bedouin community, a ministry statement said.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition vessel Handala has concluded the first stage of the new mission to break the Israeli-led siege of the Gaza Strip. The vessel has returned to the Norwegian capital, Oslo, the International Committee to Break the Siege on Gaza said on Wednesday.

15 August 2023; MEMO: The Palestinian Hamas group, on Tuesday, said that it has seized an Israeli drone in Gaza, Anadolu Agency reports.

This was announced in a brief statement by the Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Movement.

The statement said that the Qassam Brigades seized a K1 Orbiter drone on Monday while it was on “a hostile reconnaissance mission in the airspace of eastern Gaza.”

16 August 2023; MEMO: The Palestinian Authority said on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia’s appointment of a consul general in Jerusalem means that it “rejects the city’s annexation” by the occupation state of Israel, Quds Press has reported.
