Israel's High Court dismisses petition to evacuate illegal Homesh outpost in West Bank

03 August 2023; MEMO: The appeal against the illegal West Bank outpost of Homesh, urging its evacuation to allow Palestinian landowners access to their land, was dismissed by Israel's High Court of Justice.

According to Haaretz, in her verdict High Court Justice Yael Wilner claimed that the outpost's buildings were relocated from privately-owned Palestinian land and therefore negates the claim of illegal construction.

Ties With U.S. At Lowest Level As Washington Fails To Pressure Israel: Palestinian Official

RAMALLAH, Aug 3 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestine’s ties with the U.S. are at the lowest level, as Washington fails to pressure Israel to stop its actions against Palestine, a senior Palestinian official said, yesterday.

The U.S. does not want to stop any Israeli plan or project to “save the stalled peace process from the deadlock it has reached, due to the continuing Israeli practices against the Palestinians,” said Ahmad Majdalani, a member of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO).

Abbas calls for stopping Israel's practices against Palestinians

RAMALLAH, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday slammed Israel as a state "above the law" in terms of its "persecution" against Palestinians, calling on the international community to stop the practices.

Abbas made the remarks during a meeting with his Cypriot counterpart Nikos Christodoulides held in the West Bank city of Ramallah, during which they discussed bilateral relations and the Palestinian issue, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

Palestinian foreign minister says Biden’s inaction as Middle East violence surges is ‘weak’

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said in a press statement that, “the Israeli forces and settlers, daily, attack the Palestinians, their property and their sanctities, which dominate the daily scene of the lives of the Palestinians.”

UN Palestinian Refugee Agency Appeals For Substantial Funding Boost

GAZA, Jul 30 (NNN-WAFA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), needs to raise millions of dollars, to bridge its deficit before the end of 2023, a UNRWA official said, yesterday.

Adnan Abu Hasna, the UN agency’s media advisor, told reporters in Gaza City that, the agency needs more support to fund health, education, relief, and other programmes for Palestinian refugees.

Thousands take to streets in Gaza in rare public display of discontent with Hamas

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Several thousand people briefly took to the streets across the Gaza Strip on Sunday to protest chronic power outages and difficult living conditions, providing a rare public show of discontent with the territory’s Hamas government. Hamas security forces quickly dispersed the gatherings.

Marches took place in Gaza City, the southern town of Khan Younis and other locations, chanting “what a shame” and in one place burning Hamas flags, before police moved in and broke up the protests.

Palestinians Seek To Create Broad Int’l Front To Resume Peace Talks With Israel

RAMALLAH, Jul 26 (NNN-WAFA) – The Palestinian leadership is making efforts to create a broad international front, to resume the peace process with Israel, which has been stalled since 2014, said a senior Palestinian official, yesterday.

The resumption of the stalled peace talks with Israel “should be based on implementing the international resolutions and the Arab peace initiative,” Majdi Al-Khaldi, a diplomatic advisor to Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, told the radio station, Voice of Palestine.
