Palestine: 'Israel must return our money without extortion, conditions'; Shtayyeh

11 July 2023; MEMO: Palestinian Authority (PAA) Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said yesterday that the Israeli occupation authorities "must" return Palestinian money it is withholding "without extortion or conditions."

At the beginning of the weekly cabinet meeting, Shtayyeh said: "Israel must return our money withheld without extortion or conditions. Our people are fully aware of the reality of the matter and reject this extortion."

Palestine: Fatah says it rejects Israel's security measures disguised as economic support

11 July 2023; MEMO: The Palestinian Fatah movement said yesterday that Israel is attempting to cover up the "failure" of its military operation in Jenin by making "fake allegations" of offering the Palestinian Authority (PA) economic facilitations.

"We stress our rejection of security-oriented solutions and so-called economic facilitations," Fatah spokesman in Gaza, Mundhir Al-Hayek, said in a statement.

Palestinian Authorities Urge Biden To Translate Words Into Practical Measures

RAMALLAH, Jul 10 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestine, yesterday, called on U.S. President, Joe Biden, to interpret his words criticising the Israeli government, into practical measures, that protect the Palestinian people.

In a statement, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry urged Biden to “stop the expansion of Israeli settlement” and “to compel the Israeli government to engage in a political track of negotiations to resolve the conflict.”

Palestinian families displaced in Israel's Jenin raid agonize over unknown fate

RAMALLAH, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Engulfed by sadness, Om Hussain Dibaba, an elderly Palestinian woman, and the other nine members of her family sit in one of the courtyards of a hospital in the West Bank city of Jenin, without knowing their fate.

"Without any prior alarm, my family and I became displaced," the 62-year-old woman spoke to Xinhua as she clung to two of her grandchildren's hands, referring to the clashes between the Israeli army and Palestinian militants in the city that have stripped her family of any chance to straighten their lives out.

Israel's withdrawal from Jenin a 'declaration of failure': Hamas

06 July 2023; MEMO: The Palestinian resistance movements Hamas and Islamic Jihad yesterday said they considered the Israeli occupation army's withdrawal from the city of Jenin and its refugee camp in the northern occupied West Bank a "declaration of failure" and a sign of victory for the Palestinians, Anadolu reported.

This came in separate statements issued by the two movements this morning after the military operation came to an end.

05 July 2023; MEMO: Thousands of people were evacuated from the Jenin refugee camp, as one of Israel's biggest West Bank military operations in years continued for a second day on Tuesday, and a car-ramming in Tel Aviv underlined the risk of violence spreading, Reuters reports.

Palestine: Israeli troops and drones hit Jenin in major West Bank operation

JENIN, West Bank, July 3 (Reuters) - Israeli forces hit the city of Jenin with drone strikes on Monday during one of the biggest West Bank incursions in twenty years, killing at least eight people and involving hundreds of troops and gun battles that lasted into the afternoon.

With drones clearly audible overhead and the sounds of gunfire and explosives heard across the city hours after the strikes, the Jenin Brigades, a unit made up of militant groups based in the city's crowded refugee camp, said it was engaging Israeli forces and had shot down one of the unmanned aircraft.

Palestine: Israeli air strikes and ground raids on occupied West Bank's Jenin

03 July 2023; MEMO: The Israeli occupation army raided houses in the Jenin camp, killing three  Palestinians, in the early hours of today.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the deaths of Samih Abu Al-Wafa, Aws Hani Hanou, and Hasim Abu Theeba, adding that 13 others were injured, three seriously.

Israel stops Al-Aqsa restoration works

03 July 2023; MEMO: Israeli occupation authorities have warned officials at Al-Aqsa Mosque against undertaking any restoration work inside the holy compound, the Palestinian Information Centre reported today.

Israeli police prevented the Al-Aqsa Reconstruction Committee from entering the mosque and carrying out work yesterday evening.
