Palestine: 1st female pastor aspires to become bishop

8 Mar 2023; MEMO: After a long academic journey, Palestinian Sally Azar has made her lifetime dream of becoming the first female pastor in Palestine, Anadolu News Agency reports.

Now, she is pursuing another dream of becoming the first female bishop in the Palestinian Territories.

"I am the first female pastor in Palestine," Azar, 26, told Anadolu in an interview at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Old City of East Jerusalem.

At least four Palestinians killed as Israel storms Jenin camp in occupied West Bank

7 Mar 2023; MEMO: At least four Palestinians have been killed and dozens wounded by the Israeli army's bullets after occupation forces stormed the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank today.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a brief statement that there were "3 injured people, including one with a serious injury to the chest, arrived at the Jenin Governmental Hospital. Two of those injuries were in the thigh and shoulder.

Gaza warns landfill fire could rage for days, appeals for help

3 Mar 2023; MEMO: Gaza officials called for help to extinguish a fire that started in a landfill in a village bordering Israel on Thursday, saying it could last for days and cause "an environmental catastrophe", Reuters reports.

A large cloud of heavy smoke billowed into the sky as night fell, and there was a strong smell of burning rubbish across Gaza City.

Palestinian Teenager Shot Dead By Israeli Soldiers In West Bank

RAMALLAH, Mar 3 (NNN-WAFA) – A Palestinian teenager was killed, and another two injured yesterday, by Israeli soldiers, in a village east of the northern West Bank city of Qalqilya, the Palestinian Health Ministry said in a press statement.

Mohamed Islim, 15, died after he was shot in the back by Israeli soldiers, who stormed the village of Azzun, the statement read.

Palestine condemns Israeli PM's visit to West Bank settlement

RAMALLAH, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Palestine on Thursday condemned the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to the Israeli settlement of Har Brakha near the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Palestine PM calls on EU to monitor Israel crimes

2 Mar 2023; MEMO: Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh has called on the European Union to establish a body to monitor the Israeli occupation and settler crimes to protect Palestinians.

This came during a meeting held in Ramallah yesterday with the Managing Director of the Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability in the European Department for Foreign Affairs, Stefano Tomat, and Deputy Administrative Director of the European External Action Department, Carl Hallergard.
