Palestine: Israeli official asks priest to hide crucifix in occupied Jerusalem

20 July 2023; MEMO: An official at occupied Jerusalem's Western Wall asked a German Christian priest on Wednesday to hide his crucifix during a visit to the site, the Times of Israel has reported. Nikodemus Schnabel was accompanying Germany's Federal Education Minister at the time.

A reporter for German news outlet Der Spiegel filmed the incident and posted it on social media with an explanation of what happened.

PA calls on Palestinians to file complaints against Israeli crimes via ICC online system

20 July 2023; MEMO: Palestinian Authority (PA) called on Palestinian people, groups and individuals, to file complaints against Israeli crimes via the ICC's online platform.

Speaking to Voice of Palestine, Minister of Justice Mohammad Shalaldeh said that the ICC is to launch an online platform to let people file their complaints against Israeli crimes.

He said that this online gateway is to gather documentation of Israeli crimes.

Indian origin Singaporean rapper found guilty of promoting ill will among racial and religious groups

Singapore, Jul 18 (PTI) An Indian origin Singaporean rapper on Tuesday was found guilty by a court here of attempting to promote ill will among racial and religious groups in the multi-national city-state.

Subhas Govin Prabhakar Nair, 31, was convicted of four such charges over incidents that occurred between July 2019 and March 2021. Sentencing arguments will be heard at a later date, the Channel News Asia reported.

Sudanese Army accuses Rapid Support Forces of targeting hospital, killing 5

16 July 2023; MEMO: The Sudanese Army on Saturday accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of targeting a hospital and killing five people, reports Anadolu Agency.

"Continuing their violation of international humanitarian law and all norms of war, rebel militias targeted the emergency room of the military hospital in Omdurman with a drone today, killing five patients and injuring 22, mostly civilians," said the military in a statement.

Israel: MK Odeh expelled from Knesset for condemning Israel invasion of Jenin

14 July 2023; MEMO: The Hadash-Ta'al list's Chairman, Ayman Odeh, was forced out of the Knesset plenary last week during a vote on the Counterterrorism Law after condemning the Israeli attack on the Palestinian refugee camp of Jenin.

He said: "People killed in Jenin. People wounded in Tel Aviv. A killed soldier. All of their blood is because of your damned occupation. Occupation blinds you. Power blinds you. You are not only acting like occupiers, you are acting like idiots."

Tensions mount between Hezbollah, Israel at Lebanon border

14 July 2023; MEMO: Tensions have escalated, in recent months, between Israel and the Hezbollah movement on Lebanon's southern border over Tel Aviv's full occupation and annexation of the northern part of the village of Ghajar in the Golan Heights, Anadolu Agency reports.

Hezbollah leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, spoke Wednesday, saying that Lebanon would not give up the village to Israel.

Israel condemns Sweden for allowing burning of Torah

14 July 2023; MEMO: Israeli President, Isaac Herzog, strongly condemned the Swedish authorities on Friday for allowing the public burning of a copy of the Jewish holy book, Torah, while the Ashkenazi chief Rabbi also wrote to the Swedish Prime Minister, urging him to cancel the planned desecration on Saturday, Anadolu Agency reports.
