India: GRP & Pantry Car Manager brawl delays train for 1.5 hrs

KANPUR: Howrah-Jodhpur Express remained standing at Kanpur Central after a brawl between GRP personal and the pantry car manager on Tuesday afternoon.

Their argument ensued with the water bottle issue. According to news reports, the GRP personal did not pay the price of two water bottles taken from the pantry car. The manager demanded the money but he was allegedly beaten by the railway policeman. The pantry car manager complained of this incident to the control room.

Just as the train arrived at the Central railway station the GRP Inspector tried to pacify the pantry car manager. The incident however delayed the train for one-and-a-half- hour while poor passengers remained a mute spectator of the tensed scene.
