KANPUR: In view of the state government’s order, the city areas will once again be put under a drive making the roads pothole free. Above three-metre wide roads which are badly affecting the vehicle riders will be repaired. This time it will not be only a cover-up but the quality of the work will be checked by a third party.

Extra attention will be given to this aspect in regard to the repaired roads. It has been also been directed to complete ten per cent repairing work in a week. It is apt to mention here that a big sum of rupees 50 crores has been spent in this drive since the past year.

The Municipal Corporation has initiated the necessary process for the renovation and, repairing of the eroded roads.

Meanwhile, the divisional commissioner Subhash Chandra Sharma in a review meeting gave a strict warning to KMC officials for poor progress in tax collection. He asked them to remain disciplined otherwise a probe through cyber cell be conducted. He maintained that the additional Nagar Ayukt and zonal officers of KMC will now work as ADM and SDM for the realisation of house tax, removal of encroachments, roads repairing, street lights, sanitation and latching of stray animals. Expressing deep annoyance he said that the city did not look clean despite the strength of 7000 employees. The KMC employees should post selfies of their fieldwork on the official group at Whatsapp. They should also give detailed information of works done by them on the spot.
