Head constable dies at police Chowki

KANPUR: A head constable (Diwan) died in Baghpur police Chowki of Kanpur Dehat district on Saturday evening. The pistol shot pierced into his forehead just above the nose. The fire was released from the service pistol of the Chowki in-charge.

It was as the news reports pointed out he had been living under tension and pressure for the past few days. A resident of Shikhwapur in Hardoi district, he had been staying at a room situated near the mess.

On Saturday evening the head constable Mahendra, constables Israr Ahmed and Bhartendu were present at the office. Getting up he moved for some work in the interior. It was only when the echo of bullet sounded. Both the constables rushed inside and shocked to see him in a badly wounded condition. They tried him to take to the hospital but he had already expired.

Radhey Shyam, SP (Rural) said everything would be clear only after investigation. The police officers also reached on the spot. They discussed the matter with other policemen. The absence of police Chowki in-charge remained a hot topic among them.
