India: Youth's bike falls into cave, dies later

KANPUR: One youth lost his precious life in a 10-feet deep cave on Panki-Kalyanpur road here on Thursday late night. Jalkal had dug up a pothole in order to repair the water pipeline. But it was not filled up properly after completion of repairing work. Even barricading was not done suitably. The bike entangled into the wooden log and fell into the deep opening. The rider was battling between life and death inside the ditch.

It was only after two hours the police happened to pass the road. They found him falling into the big pothole. With the help of locals, the police brought him out of the ditch and rushed to the Kalyanpur community health centre. The doctors declared him brought dead.

According to the news reports, a Mughalsarai resident Akhilesh Kumar Singh (34 years) was employed as a technician at an eye care centre in Ashok Nagar. During the night he was moving towards Panki to meet his friend. His marriage was fixed for May 6, this year. His mobile phone helped the police to inform of his death to the relatives. The dead body was sent to the mortuary.
