KANPUR: Railways will soon do away with the old system of closing the level crossing gate on the city precincts. Giving this information GK Bansal, chief public relations officer, NCR said a transformer would be set up near the cabin of the railroad crossing. The new technique has been started at several stations under the North Central Region.
He also added that the fresh system helps to deal with the problem of traffic jam owing to the closure of the level crossing gate. As the newer technique will help out clear the road jam in a few seconds, the city people will get a big relief after the execution of new mode.
The old method of revolving wheel for closing and opening the level crossing gate appears tedious for the cabin man. The vehicle owners keep on shrieking for opening the gate. As many as 13 railway level crossings fall between Anwarganj and Mandhana.
Now the new technology will provide the cabin man with an easy method of pushing a button to open the gate. Presently the cabin man brings in use a wheel to close the gate.
