KDA Board okays Rs 1851 cr budget at its meeting

KANPUR: A budget of Rs 1851 crore was passed at the Kanpur Development Authority’s 126th Board meeting held here on Tuesday. Focus on starting pending projects, construction of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, and removal of parking problem was given. Besides, several other proposals also received a green signal from the authorities concerned.

Presiding over the meeting the divisional commissioner Subhas Chandra Sharma ratified the proceedings held at the previous meeting. A project of multi-level parking near the registry office on VIP road was sanctioned. Its cost of the project has been estimated to Rs 22.23 crore to be provided under the Integrated Development Plan by the Urban Development Department. It was also decided that old bungalows will be brought in use after purchase for the parking.

Approving e-auction of about 104 KDA properties the officials maintained that the profit through e-auction remained about Rs 12 crore (Rs 11.79 cr). As many as 194 properties have been sold online. The KDA has earned revenue of Rs 65 crore.  The Board gave the nod to the sale of unpopular properties on the first-come-first-get basis. The KDA has its properties at Wazidpur, Gangapaar Maccharia, Sanigawan, Barra, Naubasta, Khandepur, Deen Dayal Puram, Bingawan, Gunjan Vihar, KB-2 Scheme and Parshad Nagar. Now, Atal Bihari Vajpayee auditorium will not be booked on a lower rate. KDA has increased its income and expenditure budget for the year 2019. For the construction of houses under PMAY land use proposal will be changed in Rooma, Chakeri, Mavaiva, Kulgaoan, Oochati, and Chhatramau areas.
