Twenty-five litigants in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute case along with their counsels appeared on Wednesday before a Supreme Court-appointed mediation panel, in Faizabad, officials said.

According to a report in The Hindu, the district administration of Faizabad issued notice to 25 litigants on behalf of the Supreme Court-appointed panel.

Mediation follows the Supreme Court order on Friday the 8th March, which referred the Ayodhya case for mediation to a three-member committee.

A hall at the Faizabad Avadh University is the venue for the mediation process amid heavy security arrangements in place, Faizabad District Magistrate Anuj Kumar Jha said.

No one except participants are allowed in the area.

Panel members; former apex court judge Justice (retd) F M I Kallifulla (Chaiman), spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravishankar and senior advocate Sriram Panchu will stay in Faizabad for three days as per a programme.
