India: B.Tech students can do reasearch at HBTU

KANPUR: Harcourt Butler Technical University graduate students will now have a chance of obtaining admission in a PhD course. Only those B. Tech students will be admitted who passed their graduation with 75% marks or more. A change has been brought in the regulation for the PhD admission.

The HBTU Dean (Academic) Prof Anand Kumar said a change in PhD admission rule has been effected in order to provide a better opportunity to the B. Tech students. If they possess the ability of teaching or working in related subject, they can complete their research work. They will have to go through the admission test and interview like M.Tech students. All those candidates getting 50 % marks in the admission test can appear at the interview.

Following the fresh ruling, the seats for admission in the research will be increased from the present number of 80. Prof KM Mahapatra stated the new regulation was ready. The admission form will be available in the month of June 2019. The admission process will be finalised up to July.
