India: LLR hospital's medicine deptt Wards need repairing

Kanpur: Poor patients go to the government hospitals for they can afford treatment there. But the Lala Lajpat Rai hospital here looks very pathetic. Its certain Wards have its own tale to tell. Its Medicine Department Wards were definitely needed repairing as early as it can be initiated.

Although its male Ward number 16 is under renovation, yet Ward no 7 and Ward no 11 are so dilapidated as its ceiling plaster peels off time and again. Even the bricks were also falling down which led to removal of patients from Ward no 7. While another ward no 11 has also been closed.

According to the Head of Deptt (medicine) Prof Richa Giri, a letter informing the SIC of the Ward's poor condition has been despatched.

When the patients' number is rising constantly, there is urgent need for bringing improvement in basic facilities. People even await govt's steps in this regard but no marked change appears. Though state level minister makes inspection, the patients weep blood in agony.

They demand the hospital administration should treat them as humanely as they could. Good health care brings praises to the party that runs the government.

Meanwhile, Prof Parvez Khan, HoD, Eye deptt has rendered his resignation to the GSVM medical college principal Dr Aarti Lalchandaani. He is senior most doctor in the department.
