India: New transmission station to ease city south power woes

Kanpur: Proposed primary transmission in Govind nagar will not only benefit City south residents but also Industrial area as well. There will be less breakdown and overloading faults as a result.

According  to the Kesco officials, areas like Dabauli, Vidyut Colony, Govind Nagar, Parag Dairy, Gujaini, Juhi Param Purawa, Juhi Horseman Bagh, Dada nagar, UdyogKunj, Fazalganj and others will be connected with this transmission station.

Besides, faults occur owing to the electric line crossing the four-way highway. Permission from NHAI needs to be taken for digging the road. This problem will be resolved after construction of primary transmission station at Govind nagar Vidyut Colony.

SE (transmission) RK Mishra told three power transformers with a capacity of 60 MVA will be installed.

EE (transmission) Gagan Bihari Srivastava said green signal for the work has been received but the construction will begin after elections.

This transmission station will remain connected with Kesco sub-stations.

There were as many as ten primary transmission stations in Kanpur which supply electricity to 82 power sub-stations.
