India: CSJM fee hike opposed by Self-finance college body

KANPUR: The Self-finance college association has waged war against the fee hike at Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University. The office-bearers registered their strong protest condemning the move vehemently on Saturday.

Putting their points before the university registrar Vinod Kumar they said it was good if the university administration should have listened to them.

The organisation's president Vinay Trivedi and Dr Brijesh Bhadauria stated if there was need to increase the fee the amount should not have doubled. With this decision students in lakh from 1200 colleges would be affected directly.

They disclosed that the fee has been hiked to Rs 1285 from Rs 685. They raised their demand of rolling back the hike.

The Registrar has assured them to consider over their genuine demands. However, he said that the fee structure was still lower than other universities in the state. The hike has been effected after a decade. The increase of Rs 500 in fee of BA, BSc, BCom and MA has been effected.
