India: Two held in betting from Raipurwa

Kanpur: Two persons including a CSJMU student were arrested from Raipurwa police station on Tuesday late night. They were collecting money for betting in IPL matches. 

The police recovered a cash amount of Rs 14,000, mobile set and 12 receipts. Though the bookies remained successful in deleting the message and application used for this purpose. 

Informing about this case, J P Pal, Inspector, said that the student Akash Prajapati was employed at the mobile shop in Raipurwa area. While Neerja Gupta was running the mobile shop. FIRs against both the persons were registered. 

He added that search was underway to nab the main bookies Mukesh Jaiswal r/o Pheelkhanap and Pankaj alias Pintu r/o Awaz Vikas Colony Naubasta. They were reportedly running betting on large scale.
