China: Beijing administers over 950,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses to children

BEIJING, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- As of Thursday, a total of 951,100 doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered in Beijing to the city's children aged between 3 and 11, said local authorities.

Starting from Oct. 28, the Chinese capital started COVID-19 vaccination for children aged between 3 and 11. More than 950,000 minors of this age group had been vaccinated as of Thursday.

As of Thursday, a total of 21.6 million residents in Beijing had received vaccinations, with nearly 50 million doses administered.

China to improve health insurance for patients with serious illnesses

BEIJING, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- The General Office of the State Council has released guidelines for improving the medical insurance and assistance systems to ease the financial burden of patients with serious ailments.

Patients with serious illnesses will be included in a security net provided by the basic medical insurance system, special health plans for serious illnesses and the medical assistance system, according to a document that contains the guidelines.

China rejects US allegations of violation of religious freedom

Beijing, Nov 18 (PTI) China on Thursday slammed the US for designating it along with Pakistan and others as 'countries of particular concern' for the violation of religious freedom and accused Washington of frequently using religious issues to interfere in the internal affairs of other nations.

The US on Wednesday designated several nations, including China, Pakistan, Iran, North Korea and Myanmar, as countries of particular concern for having engaged in or tolerated systematic, ongoing, and egregious violations of religious freedom."

Pakistan’s exports to China up 76% in first three quarters: Pakistani Consul General Shanghai

BEIJING, Nov 16 (APP): Pakistan Consul General, Shanghai, Hussain Haider said that 2021 has been an excellent year for Pakistan-China bilateral trade. Driven by China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement Phase, Pakistan exports to China have increased more than 76% year-on-year in the first three quarters despite the pandemic.

“We believe that by the end of this year, our exports to China will cross $3 billion and that will be one of our highest-ever exports to China,” he said in an interview with China Economic Net (CEN).

China says update of news-sources list meant to fix 'chaotic dissemination'

HONG KONG, Nov 16 (Reuters) - China's recent move to update an official list of internet news providers whose content may be reprinted by other sites is aimed at correcting a "chaotic dissemination" of news, a senior cyberspace regulator official said on Tuesday.

Xie Dengke, director of the Cyberspace Administration of China's network communication bureau, told a State Council news briefing that managing online news sources was crucial to maintaining a "clear cyberspace".
