China investigates ex-official who led major corruption case

Beijing, Oct 2 (AP-PTI) A former Chinese justice minister has become a target of President Xi Jinping's anti-corruption campaign.

Fu Zhenghua, who was also a former vice minister of public security, is under investigation for severe violations of party discipline and law, the ruling Communist Party's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said Saturday. It did not provide any details in a one-sentence statement posted online.

Pakistan attends International Military Flight Training Conference in China

Russia to triple electricity supplies to China on October 1 — TV

BEIJING, September 30. /TASS/: Russia will triple electricity supplies via the Amur-Heihe electric transmission line (ETL) starting October 1, China Central Television reported on Thursday.

"Starting October 1, the overhead convertor substation of 500 kW (750 MW DC) will increase its daily time of operation with full loading from 5 to 16 hours per day," the TV channel said.

The Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed firm first entered the Pakistani market before the outbreak of COVID-19.


However, the nascent sales network was soon disintegrated after cross-border goods transport between China and Pakistan was affected by the pandemic, China Economic Net (CEN) reported on Wednesday.

Hong Kong legislature passes controversial anti-doxxing privacy bill

HONG KONG, Sept 29 (Reuters) - Hong Kong's legislature on Wednesday passed a privacy law tackling "doxxing" - the public release of information identifying an individual or organisation - that critics say could be used to protect those in power and target civil society.

Supporters say the legislation was long overdue to counter a problem festering since the city's 2019 mass pro-democracy protests. Some officers' home addresses and children's schools were exposed by anti-government protesters, leading to threats.
