BEIJING, Sep 5 (APP): The production of high-yielding hybrid rice receives a notable boost in Pakistan, from the startup of modern color sorter machines and seeds given by China to Pakistan to facilitate the sowing of this grain.

Michael Guo, sales manager of Hefei Meyer optoelectronic technology international said that they started to sell the color sorter to the Pakistan market in 2008, it’s very hard to promote the Chinese Brand at the very beginning, as many people prefer to buy European and Japanese Brand.

Group behind Hong Kong’s Tiananmen vigil denies foreign ties

HONG KONG (AP) — The group behind the annual Tiananmen Square memorial vigil in Hong Kong said Sunday it will not cooperate with police conducting a national security investigation into the group’s activities, calling it an abuse of power.

Police notified the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China last month it was under investigation for working for foreign interests, an accusation it denied.

China closely monitors situation in Afghanistan: Wang Wenbin

BEIJING, Sep 3 (APP): A Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Friday that the new Afghan government was yet to be established, and China was closely monitoring the situation.

“The Chinese embassy in Afghanistan is an important channel for China-Afghanistan exchanges and is currently operating normally,” he said during his regular briefing held here.

Pakistan to revive tourism through cooperation with China: Pak Envoy

BEIJING, Sep 3 (APP): Pakistan will revive its tourism through cooperation with China, Pakistan Ambassador to China Moin ul Haq said here on Friday.

“Pakistan has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on tourism with Chinese tourism associations and forged partnership with travel agencies”, he said at the 2021 World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit and World Conference on Tourism Cooperation and Development held here.

China says climate talks with U.S. envoy Kerry were 'candid, in depth, pragmatic'

SHANGHAI, Sept 3 (Reuters) - China's environment ministry said on Friday talks with visiting U.S. climate envoy John Kerry this week were "candid, in-depth and pragmatic" and the two sides would continue "dialogue and consultation".

The world's two biggest sources of carbon emissions would work together to help achieve success at this year's climate talks in Glasgow in November, where nearly 200 countries will review global efforts to tackle rising temperatures, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment said.

US envoy Kerry says China crucial to handling climate crisis

BEIJING (AP) — China needs to expand its efforts to reduce carbon emissions to help hold back the rise in global temperatures, U.S. envoy John Kerry said Thursday.

The State Department said Kerry told Chinese Vice Premier Han Zheng in a virtual meeting that there is “no way” for the world to solve the climate crisis without China’s “full engagement and commitment.”

China is the world’s largest carbon emitter, producing an estimated 27% of global greenhouse gases, followed by the United States.

Global stocks follow Wall St. higher amid virus uncertainty

BEIJING (AP) — Global stock markets mostly rose Wednesday as investors weighed the economic impact of the spread of the coronavirus’s delta variant.

Markets in London and Frankfurt opened higher. Shanghai, Tokyo and Hong Kong advanced.

Wall Street futures were higher after the S&P 500 ended August with a 2.9% gain.
