India: 'Pilot Baba' sent to judicial custody

Nainital, Apr 4 (PTI) A court here rejected the bail application of spiritual guru "Pilot Baba" in an over-10-year-old case of cheating on Thursday and sent him to judicial custody.

District Judge Narendra Dutt dismissed the baba's bail application and remanded him to judicial custody in connection with a case of cheating, involving lakhs of rupees, lodged against him and the staff members of an educational centre run by him by a former state minister in 2008.

India: Six-yr-old boy sodomised in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar, Apr 4 (PTI) A six-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised by a youth in a village here, police said Thursday.

The boy's family lodged a complaint at the Bhopa police station on Wednesday and a case has been registered, Station House Officer MS Gill said.

The accused is suspected to be a juvenile. His age has not been ascertained yet and he is at large, he said.

The victim was sent for medical examination on Wednesday.

However, it can be said he came out of the frying pan into the fire during his nomination.    

India: Doctor booked for attempting to rape woman

Muzaffarnagar (UP), Apr 3 (PTI) An FIR has been registered against a doctor who reportedly attempted to rape a woman while taking her blood sample in Shamli district, police said Wednesday.

The incident was reported from Jhinjhana police station area on Tuesday, they said.

The accused Jasvir visited the 24-year-old victim to collect her blood sample. He then tried to force himself on the woman, police said.

The victim raised an alarm and the accused ran away from the spot, they said.

Efforts are on to trace Jasvir, police added.

India: Teen girl raped in Banda

Banda (UP), Apr 3 (PTI) A teenage girl was allegedly raped by two Dalit youths at a village in Bisanda area here, police said Wednesday.

The incident took place on Monday when the 16-year-old girl was alone at her house. Pushpendra and Rajbahadur Kori entered the house and raped her, they said.

An FIR was registered against the two following a complaint by family members of the victim.

The accused were arrested Wednesday, police added.

India: Rajdhani Express train hits cattle, delayed for 30 minutes

Kanpur: The train passengers had to face trouble owing to over running of a cattle against the engine of Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express near Fatehpur on Tuesday morning. On account of this accident there was effected technical fault in the engine. 

The train's driver informed of this mishap to the control room. The maintenance was done after the train arrived at CNB at about 6.30 a.m. It took half-an-hour in thorough  servicing the engine. After complete rectification the train left towards its onward journey for New Delhi. 

India: Yogi calls Indian Army 'Modi ji ki sena'

Ghaziabad, Apr 1 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described the Indian Army as "Modi ji ki sena" (Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Army) during an election campaign for the BJP here.

Hitting out at Opposition parties over a host of governance issues Sunday, Adityanath said what was "impossible" for the Congress, Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party is possible under the BJP rule.

India: Walsh gives bowling tips to young cricketers

Kanpur: In order to prepare fast bowlers in Uttar Pradesh, Courtney Walsh, former fast bowler of West Indies gave tips to budding cricket players in a 15-day bowling training camp here on Monday morning. 

Interacting with the young players, the big name in the cricket world suggested them the initial informations about the fast bowling. He pointed out that a bowler's laxity beneits the batsman fully. Through the video clips he made them clear how to improve over errors.
