Indian regime seriously violates human rights of ethnic minorities: Chinese scholar

BEIJING, Mar 08Â (APP): India, over the years, has seriously violated the human rights of ethnic minorities not only in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), but also throughout its own territories which are closely tracked by several international human rights organization, Cheng Xizhong, Visiting Professor of Southwest University of Political Science and Law said on Tuesday.

He called on the whole world to act immediately and resolutely stop the Narendra Modi regime from continuing massive violations of human rights.

China’s trade rose in Jan-Feb, before Russia invaded Ukraine

Exports grew by 16.3% over a year earlier to $544.7 billion in a sign global demand was recovering before President Vladimir Putin’s Feb. 24 invasion, customs data showed Monday. Imports advanced 15.5% to $428.7 billion despite a Chinese economic slowdown that the war threatens to worsen.

China lashes Washington over Quad, North Korea

BEIJING (AP) — China’s top diplomat on Monday accused Washington of trying to create an Asian version of the U.S.-European NATO military alliance and said it is up to the Biden administration to improve relations with North Korea.

BEIJING (AP) — China’s Foreign Minister on Monday called Russia Beijing’s “most important strategic partner,” amid its continued refusal to condemn the invasion of Ukraine.

Wang Yi said ties with Moscow constituted “one of the most crucial bilateral relationships in the world.”

China has broken with the U.S., Europe and others that have imposed sanctions on Russia after its invasion of Ukraine. Beijing has said sanctions create new issues and threaten a political settlement of the conflict.

Japan: Brent crude up $10, shares sink as Ukraine conflict deepens

TOKYO (AP) — The price of oil jumped about $10 a barrel and shares were sharply lower Monday as the conflict in Ukraine deepened amid mounting calls for harsher sanctions against Russia.

Brent crude oil surged more than 12% during the day in Asia, while benchmark U.S. crude gained about $10 at more than $125 a barrel.
