China’s Shenzhou-13 manned spacecraft successfully reach orbit

JIUQUAN, /China/, October 15. /TASS/: China’s Shenzhou-13 manned spacecraft with three astronauts successfully reached the designated orbit in the small hours on Saturday, China’s manned spaceflight program administration said.

The spaceship will soon be docked to the national space station.

A Changzheng (Long March) 2F carrier rocket was launched from the Jiuquan launch center in the country's north at 00:23 a.m. Saturday local time (7:25 p.m. Moscow time).

ASEAN to exclude Myanmar junta chief from leaders' summit - sources

Oct 15 (Reuters) - The Association of Southeast Asian Nations agreed on Friday to sideline Myanmar's military ruler from a leaders' summit this month, sources said, a rare tough stand by a bloc known for its policy of engagement and non-interference.

Foreign ministers made the decision at a special meeting called to address the failure of Myanmar's military to follow a peace process it agreed to with ASEAN five months ago, aimed at tackling a bloody crisis triggered by its Feb. 1 coup.

U.S. calls Cambodia opaque over Chinese activity at navy base

Taiwan says don't get too close as China defends military drills

TAIPEI/BEIJING, Oct 13 (Reuters) - Taiwan's defence ministry warned China of strong countermeasures on Wednesday if its forces got too close to the island,as Beijing defended its incursions into Taiwan's air defence zone as "just" moves to protect peace and stability.

Military tensions with China, which claims Taiwan as its own territory, are at their worst in more than 40 years, Taiwan's defence minister said last week, adding China will be capable of mounting a "full scale" invasion by 2025.

Kyrgyzstan's new Cabinet of Ministers sworn in

BISHKEK, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- The new Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, headed by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the President's Administration Akylbek Zhaparov, took the oath of office on Wednesday.

The oath-taking ceremony was held at the country's parliament with the attendance of President Sadyr Zhaparov.

The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan approved the new structure and members of the Cabinet and President Zhaparov later signed a decree on the appointment of members of the Cabinet of Ministers.
