03 July 2021; MEMO: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Friday that his country is present in Libya, Azerbaijan, Syria and the Eastern Mediterranean and will remain in these areas.
This came in a speech delivered by Erdogan on Friday, during his inspection of the tank track factory in the north-western Turkish state of Sakarya.
He stressed that Turkey would use its legitimate rights and carry out exploration activities in all its seas, especially the Eastern Mediterranean and the vicinity of Cyprus.
The Turkish president stressed that the presidential and parliamentary elections would be held on their scheduled date in June 2023, noting that the factory belongs to the Ministry of Defence, in response to the opposition's allegations regarding cooperation with Qatar.
Erdogan pointed to Qatar's 49 per cent co-financing of the tank track factory, while indicating: "Anyone who claims that the tank track factory was sold, especially to foreigners, is a liar."
He argued that the latest lie promoted by the opposition leader about Turkey's acceptance of Qatari students in medical schools without an entrance exam is untrue, and called on the opposition to prove its allegations.
