NEW DELHI, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Chief Minister of India's Delhi Arvind Kejriwal Saturday said the national capital could face a power crisis.
Kejriwal said his government has written to the country's Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, seeking his intervention in making adequate arrangements of coal and gas to power generation plants, so as to ensure electricity supply to the city.
According to Kejriwal, the capital city has been facing a coal shortage since August, which affected power generation from major central generating plants supplying power to Delhi.
The Delhi chief minister has sought Modi's intervention for adequate coal to be diverted to plants like Dadri-II and Jhajjar TPS, which are supplying to Delhi.
He also requested gas allocations to Bawana, Pragati-I and GTPS to supply power to Delhi.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of southern Andhra Pradesh Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy also wrote to Modi seeking his intervention in view of an alarming energy crisis in his state.
