ISLAMABAD, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- A policeman and a wanted terrorist were killed in a counter-terror operation in the Khyber district of Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of police said on Monday.
The operation was jointly conducted by the CTD and security agencies in the Ghariza area of the district, according to the CTD officials.
The CTD teams raided a house by acting on a tip-off regarding the presence of militants, as a result of which terrorists started firing on them, killing a security official while another sustained bullet injuries, the CTD said.
During the operation, the police arrested three other injured militants and shifted them to an undisclosed place for further investigation.
The killed and arrested terrorists were involved in the killing of policemen in separate attacks in the province, said the officials.
