ISLAMABAD, Dec 22 (NNN-APP) – The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, has allocated over 281 million U.S. dollars for Pakistan, to combat the diseases for the next three years, a spokesperson for the country’s health ministry said yesterday.
The Fund has helped Pakistan counter diseases and will continue it for the upcoming three years, Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination, Sajid Hussain Shah, said.
The funds will be transferred to national departments dealing with disease control across the country, which will use them to protect the local community from HIV, tuberculosis and malaria, said the official.
A decision was adopted earlier Nov, to make the allocation for 2023-2025, for building resilient and sustainable health systems in Pakistan, the official said.
A total of around 65 million U.S. dollars have been allocated for HIV patients, whereas about 182 million dollars will go to the treatment of tuberculosis, with around 34 million dollars for Malaria, the official added.
