Tehran, IRNA - Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has termed the Palestinian resistance as a liberating and legitimate movement against the usurped Zionist regime.
Addressing a number of UN officials, humanitarian organizations, religious institutions, university professors, and some foreign ambassadors in Geneva on Wednesday, Amirabdollahian highlighted that “there is no logic and basis for the right to legitimate defense for the occupying regime".
Referring to the current situation in the Palestine and Zionist regime’s aggression on Gaza, the top Iranian diplomat reiterated that the occupying and apartheid Israeli regime insists on gross violations of international humanitarian law and committing war crimes and genocide against humanity in the Gaza enclave.
The Zionist regime's atrocities in Gaza should not make the world inactive, but it should make them more serious about their commitment to make sure of keeping the principles of the Geneva Conventions and prevent a full-scale genocide in Gaza, he noted.
He further noted that ignoring the continuous, blatant, and severe violations of humanitarian law is an irreparable blow to the principle of the rule of law and the validity of international law.
The Israeli regime waged a bloody war on Gaza on October 7 after Hamas’ Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the usurping entity.
Since the start of the aggression, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 11,180 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured over 28,000 others.
It has also imposed a “complete siege” on the coastal sliver, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
