18 Nov 2021; MEMO: The former Yemeni regime of Ali Abdullah Saleh maintained secret contact with Israel, Rai Al Youm online newspaper reported an official saying yesterday.
According to the Deputy Director of Moral Guidance Department for Media Affairs in the Houthi government, Brigadier Abdullah Bin Amer, Israel widened its operation and activities in Yemen during Saleh's time as president.
He said that secret documents proved that "there had been communication between Sanaa and Tel Aviv in 2004."
Bin Amer said that Israel looks at today's Yemen as a "big danger to its domination of the southern area of the Red Sea."
The Houthi official also said: "The Israeli enemy does not want the Yemenis to be free and independent." It is "annoyed" with the new developments in Yemen which are paving the way for "victory and freedom", he added.
He also claimed that there is an American-Israeli movement in the area that aims to "undermine the liberation and independence" of Yemen, pledging to reveal more details about this later.
