TEHRAN, Aug 10 (NNN-IRNA) – Thousands of people rallied in Iran’s capital, Tehran, yesterday, in support of Palestine and against recent Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, state-owned Press TV reported.
Iranians gathered near the Palestinian embassy in Tehran, chanting slogans against the United States and Israel, and waving placards and flags supporting Palestine, the report said.
Khalid Qaddoumi, representative of Gaza’s ruling Hamas movement in Iran, told the rally, Israel killed innocent civilians, and must be tried in international human rights courts to be punished.
Ali Fadavi, deputy commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), said at the gathering, Iran and the IRGC will continue to support the Palestinians’ struggle against Israel.
In the three-day Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, that ended on Sunday, in an Egypt-brokered truce, at least 44 Palestinians, including 15 children and four women, were killed, and more than 360 others injured.
