TEHRAN, Oct 27 (NNN-IRNA) – Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, criticised Western countries’ “double standards” on a wide range of issues, saying, they do not support “real freedom-seekers” who truly pursue independence and freedom.
Raisi made the remarks in an address to the 18th General Assembly of the Organisation of Asia-Pacific News Agencies, held in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
Adopting “double standards” on issues such as human rights, freedom and independence, has become a “daily practice” of the West, Raisi said, adding that, people across the world have become aware of that.
The Iranian president called on the media to shoulder the “heavy responsibility” of raising public awareness, about the West’s current “deceptive methods,” by providing people with correct information and helping them have an accurate perception of the events on the ground.
