VIENNA, April 3./TASS/: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed that its Director General Rafael Grossi will visit the Russian city of Kaliningrad on Wednesday, April 5, to discuss issues related to the safety of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), IAEA Spokesperson Fredrik Dahl told TASS on Monday.
Rafael Grossi will visit Kaliningrad on Wednesday as part of ongoing consultations aimed at ensuring the protection of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant during the military conflict, Dahl said.
Earlier, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported that Grossi will arrive in Kaliningrad on Wednesday to discuss the situation surrounding the ZNPP.
On March 29, Grossi visited the ZNPP and examined the site. He was shown the facilities that had been damaged as a result of Ukraine’s shelling. In particular, he toured the site where a missile fired at the plant exploded in between the Unit Four coolant tanks.
This was Grossi's second visit to the Zaporozhye NPP in the past six months. The first was on September 1, 2022.
