FM, Senator Graham agree for sustained Pak-US engagement in mutual advantage

ISLAMABAD, Jan 17 (APP): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and senior Republican Senator Lindsey Graham in a meeting held in Washington D.C, agreed upon the fact that sustained and high-level engagement between Pakistan and the United States was in mutual advantage of the two countries.

61 Killed, Scores Trapped As Avalanches Hit Pakistan-Controlled Kashmir

ISLAMABAD, Jan 15 (NNN-APP) – At least 61 people were killed and scores of others trapped, in separate incidents of avalanches in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir on Tuesday.

The Neelum Valley area was the worst hit, where 57 people were killed, while four others were killed in Rawalakot and Kotli areas, Ahmed Raza Qadri, a disaster management official of the Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, said.

Pakistan: JuD chief Hafiz Saeed pleads not guilty in terror financing cases: court official

Lahore, Jan 14 (PTI) Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed on Tuesday pleaded "not guilty" in two terror financing cases against him as the Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief recorded his statement in a Pakistani anti-terrorism court here, amidst mounting international pressure on Islamabad to rein in militant groups.

The Counter Terrorism Department had registered 23 FIRs against Saeed and his accomplices on the charges of terror financing in different cities of Punjab province and arrested him on July 17. He is held at the Kot Lakhpat jail in Lahore.

Pakistan a peaceful country with nuclear capability for deterrence: President

ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (APP): President Dr Arif Alvi on Tuesday said Pakistan was a peaceful country with an advanced nuclear capability meant for deterrence against any hegemonic designs in the region.

Iran envoy calls for continuation of consultations between Tehran, Islamabad

PAK: PM says he summoned an immediate report over Quetta mosque attack

ISLAMABAD, Jan 11 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan Saturday said that he had demanded an immediate report on the condemnable cowardly terrorist attack in Quetta yesterday, targeting a mosque and people at prayer.

On his twitter account, the prime minister posted that he had also directed the provincial government to ensure that all the medical facilities were provided to the injured.

He also lauded the bravery of martyred Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Haji Amanullah, saying (he) ‘was a brave & exemplary officer’.

RSS extremist ideology takes over nuclear armed India: PAKISTAN PM

ISLAMABAD, Jan 11 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan Saturday once again reminded the world community that an extremist ideology Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had taken over India, a nuclear-armed country of over a billion people.

On his twitter account, the prime minister posted that RSS was an ideology based on racial superiority, hatred of Muslims & all minorities.

“Whenever this genie has come out of the bottle, it has always led to bloodshed,” he added.

ISLAMABAD, Jan 10 (APP): President Dr Arif Alvi on Friday said India’s racist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideology had started getting a worldwide comparison with American Ku Klux Klan’s (KKK) white supremacist hatred and Hitler’s fascism.

“The real message about RSS, being similar to KKK and to Hitler’s fascist goals, is being recognized as such throughout the world,” the president in a tweet.

President Alvi recalled that disenfranchisement, based on racism in the history, led to genocide, firstly of Jews in Europe and then of Rohingyas in Myanmar.
