India failed to address key HR concerns despite intel. pressure: Speakers

ISLAMABAD, Nov 09 (APP): Speakers at a webinar while expressing serious concerns over India’s noncompliance with the recommendations agreed during UPR’s 3rd cycle, have said that despite strong protests from human rights organizations including the United Nations and the OIC, the Indian Government has failed to address the key human rights concerns expressed during third Universal Periodic Review.

Two Policemen Killed, Three Injured In Terror Attack In Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Nov 9 (NNN-APP) – At least two policemen were killed and three others injured, in a terrorist attack last night, in the South Waziristan district of Pakistan’s north-western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, said the police.

Unknown terrorists attacked a police station in the district’s Raghzai area, at midnight, resulting in casualties of policemen, the media reported.

Police said, the terrorists burnt an ambulance and torched the police station.

Policeman, terrorist killed in counter-terror operation in NW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- A policeman and a wanted terrorist were killed in a counter-terror operation in the Khyber district of Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of police said on Monday.

The operation was jointly conducted by the CTD and security agencies in the Ghariza area of the district, according to the CTD officials.

Pakistan Supreme Court directs police to register FIR of attack on Imran Khan within 24 hours

Islamabad, Nov 7 (PTI) Pakistan's Supreme Court on Monday ordered the Inspector General of the Punjab province to register a case on the gun attack on Imran Khan within 24 hours, a directive hailed by the former prime minister's party as a “first step towards justice”.

On Sunday, Khan said that an FIR has not been registered on the botched "assassination attempt" on his life as authorities are refusing to file the case unless he removes an Army general's name from the complaint.

China, Saudi Arabia assure Pakistan of $13 billion in funding amid ongoing crises

06 Nov 2022; MEMO: China and Saudi Arabia have guaranteed $13 billion in funding to Pakistan as it continues to struggle with economic and environmental crises.

According to the newspaper Dawn, Pakistani Finance Minister Ishaq Dar told reporters that China said it will provide $4 billion worth of sovereign loans to the country, as well as refinancing a further $3.3 billion in commercial bank borrowings and increasing currency swaps by up to $1.45 billion.

Pakistan: PM demands full SC commission to investigate allegations of Imran Khan

Addressing a press conference here, he said commission should probe the allegations of Imran Khan against him, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and a high-ranking army officer.
