NEW DELHI, Oct 5 (NNN-PTI) – More than 20 people were killed and 20 others injured, after a bus fell into a gorge, in India’s northern hilly state of Uttarakhand, late yesterday, local police said today.
Twenty dead bodies have been recovered so far, and the injured have been admitted to a hospital, the police said.
The ill-fated bus was carrying guests to a wedding, when it fell into a 500-metre-deep gorge, the police said. About 45 people were on the bus when the accident occurred, near the Dhumakot area of Pauri Garhwal district.
