The husband Amit had returned home in an inebriated state and his wife, Shweta, objected vehemently to his drinking habit.

After an argument, Amit locked the door from the inside and put a noose around his neck to scare his wife.

However, he lost his balance and the noose tightened ultimately around his neck.

India: Apple supplier Foxlink's fire safety systems mostly faulty, official says

CHITTOOR, India, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Most of the fire safety equipment at Apple supplier Foxlink's (2392.TW) facility in southern India was not functional, a government official told Reuters on Tuesday, a day after a massive blaze forced production to be halted.

The factory, which makes charging cables for iPhones, is located in the Chittoor district of India's Andhra Pradesh state and is unlikely to resume full operations for two months, raising supply chain concerns for the U.S. tech giant, Reuters reported earlier in the day.

Taliban: 2 senior IS members killed in Afghanistan: Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (AP) — Two senior regional members of the Islamic State group have been killed in Afghanistan in recent weeks in separate operations by the Taliban security forces, a Taliban spokesman said Tuesday.

Taliban forces killed Qari Fateh, the regional IS intelligence and operations chief, during a raid in Kabul over the weekend, Zabihullah Mujahid, the main spokesman for the Taliban government, said in a statement.

Earlier this month in a separate operation in Kabul, three IS members — including senior IS leader Ijaz Amin Ahingar — were killed.

Pakistan: Retired Army general arrested on charges of inciting public against national institutions

Islamabad, Feb 27 (PTI) A high-ranking retired Pakistan Army general was arrested early Monday morning on charges of inciting the public against national institutions.

Lt General (retd.) Amjad Shoaib, a prominent supporter of former prime minister Imran Khan, was detained by the Islamabad police from his residence in the federal capital after a first information report (FIR) was registered against him at the Ramna police station on Sunday by Magistrate Owais Khan.

India: Traffic affected near ITO, CBI headquarters due to AAP's protest against Sisodia's arrest

New Delhi, Feb 27 (PTI) Traffic was affected near the ITO intersection here on Monday as Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg was closed for vehicular movement in view of a protest by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

The Delhi Police informed the commuters about it through its official Twitter handle.

"Traffic will remain affected on DDU Marg in the carriageway from Minto Road towards ITO and vice-versa due to special traffic arrangements. Commuters are advised to avoid this stretch," it tweeted.

Pakistani police arrest prominent Imran Khan supporter

ISLAMABAD (AP) — Pakistani police arrested Monday a retired army general and prominent supporter of former Prime Minister Imran Khan on charges of inciting the public and government employees against national institutions, officials said.

The charge against retired Gen. Amjad Shoaib, which carries a seven-year sentence, came after he appeared on Pakistani BOL news channel on Saturday criticizing authorities for keeping Khan’s supporters jailed, especially in remote areas of the country.
