MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday requested a meeting with Bolivia’s charge d’affaires to protest the “harassment and intimidation” of its diplomatic personnel in the Bolivian city La Paz.

Since Monday, Mexico has accused Bolivia of ramping up police presence outside its embassy and intimidating diplomats.

The spat follows a chill in relations after Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador last month gave political asylum to former Bolivian president Evo Morales, a fellow leftist.

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said on Tuesday that monitoring of Mexico’s diplomatic facilities in Bolivia had eased since his government issued a complaint about the issue on Monday.

“I have news that this situation of extreme surveillance on our embassy in Bolivia has eased considerably,” Lopez Obrador told a regular government news briefing.

TIJUANA, Mexico (AP) — When the Honduran boy complained of a toothache, Dr. Psyche Calderon asked the obvious question: “When did the pain start?”

The answer broke her heart.

“When La Mara broke all my teeth and killed all my family,” the 14-year-old said.

He said little else about the attack by the infamous Central American gang, La Mara Salvatrucha. Just: “I was the only one that survived.”

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Just days after a landmark agreement on a trade pact to replace the North American Free Trade Agreement, Mexico objected Saturday to legislation introduced in the U.S. Congress as part of an eventual ratification of the deal.

9 December 2019; AFP: Mexico's foreign minister said Sunday the country would not accept a US proposal for steel and aluminum production under the new trade deal, saying it would leave Mexico at a disadvantage.

During a meeting with senators to discuss details of negotiations for the United States-Mexico-Canada treaty (USMCA), Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard said the US proposed that 70 percent of steel for automobile production come from the North American region.

MEXICO CITY, Dec 8 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) – Four people were killed and several others injured, in a shooting here on Saturday, near Mexico’s presidential residence, according to local media reports said, citing the police.

The incident happened, as an armed man entered an apartment building, near the National Palace, looking to urinate, and was confronted by residents of the building.

He, however, drew out a pistol and opened fire, the reports said.

Three residents were killed by the gunman, who was later shot dead by the police, authorities said.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican security forces on Sunday killed seven more members of a presumed cartel assault force that rolled into a town near the Texas border and staged an hour-long attack, officials said, putting the overall death toll at 20.

The Coahuila state government said in a statement that lawmen aided by helicopters were still chasing remnants of the force that arrived in a convoy of pickup trucks and attacked the city hall of Villa Union on Saturday.
