Morocco: People Rally To Support Palestinians Against U.S. Peace Plan In Rabat

RABAT, Feb 22 (NNN-MAP) – Thousands of demonstrators flooded the streets of Morocco and Tunisia, to protest against a new US Middle East peace plan which the Palestinians say favours Israel.

Carrying Palestinian flags, demonstrators, including local politicians and trade unionists, marched in Rabat chanting, “Long live Palestine.”

They called for a boycott of American products, denounced the United States as “enemies of peace” and chanted, “Palestine is not for sale.”

Thousands Of Moroccans March, To Support Palestinians Against U.S. 'Peace' Plan

RABAT, Feb 10 (NNN-MAP) – Thousands of Moroccans, on Sunday, marched in the capital Rabat, to express their solidarity with the Palestinian people and their rejection of the recently released U.S. peace plan for the Middle East.

Protesters chanted, while carrying pro-Palestinian placards, with words such as: “No Trump’s Deal of the Century,” “Full solidarity with the Palestinian people,” “Free Palestine.”

Carrying Palestinian flags and big placards, the protesters marched for hours.

BDS Morocco calls for boycot of youth conference with Israeli participation

5 Nov 2019; MEMO: The Moroccan BDS movement called on Sunday evening to boycott a youth conference, which will possibly witness the participation of Israel in its activities.

The movement said in a statement that the fifth session of the Forum of Young Leaders to be held in the city of Essaouira, in the middle of the current month, is likely to host Israeli participators after the French embassy invited Israel to take part in the forum.

Morocco, Italy Sign Strategic Partnership Declaration

RABAT, Nov 2 (NNN-MAP) – Morocco and Italy signed a declaration of multidimensional strategic partnership, in the Moroccan capital, Rabat.

The two sides expressed their determination to preserve and consolidate the level of relations they’ve achieved in the declaration, which was signed by Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita and his Italian counterpart, Luigi di Maio.

The declaration reaffirmed the commitment of both parties “to strengthen political dialogue and integration process, with the European Union.”

Moroccan Police Arrest Israeli Woman For Identity Forgery

RABAT, Morocco, Oct 27 (NNN-MAP) – Moroccan police arrested an Israeli citizen for Moroccan identity forgery, at Casablanca airport, local press reported, on Saturday.

According to the news website, barlamane, the Israeli, named Miny Nahmani, arrived from Istanbul.

The criminal police suspected that she is linked to a criminal network, involved in the falsification of Moroccan identities and passports.

Morocco Hosts Second International Conference On Justice

RABAT, Morocco, Oct 22 (NNN-MAP) – The 2nd International Conference on Justice, kicked off on Monday, in Morocco’s central city of Marrakech, with the presence of more than 800 representatives from nearly 70 countries.

Held under the theme “Justice and Investment,” the two-day event is bringing together over 40 justice ministers and several senior officials of high judicial councils and prosecutors.

Royal Air Maroc says has not canceled Boeing 737 MAX orders

RABAT (Reuters) - Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has not canceled orders for the Boeing (BA.N) 737 MAX, the Moroccan national carrier said on Friday, following conflicting remarks about the fate of two jets.

“The order to receive the two aircraft has never been canceled,” Hakim Challot, director of external communications, told Reuters.

RAM has taken delivery of two Boeing 737 MAX and these were grounded along with the worldwide fleet in March, shortly after the second of two fatal accidents involving the widely used jet.

Royal Air Maroc suspends deal for two more Boeing 737 MAX jets: source

RABAT (Reuters) - Morocco’s national carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has suspended a deal to purchase two more Boeing (BA.N) 737 MAX jets after the same model of aircraft crashed in Ethiopia, a source from the airline told Reuters on Thursday.

RAM had planned to receive the two 737 MAX aircraft in June, the source said, adding that two other 737 Max planes in its fleet had been grounded pending the findings of an investigation into the Ethiopian crash in March.

Boeing did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.
