Pak: India sales fake degrees, gets blow internationally

ISLAMABAD, Feb 25 (APP): The Manav Bharti University, located in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, has sold around 36,000 fake degrees across 17 states during over 11 years, hitting a blow to Indian repute internationally.

Many of the graduates of the said university are currently working in Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America and Singapore.

Qatari Special Envoy Holds Talks With Pakistani Officials On Afghan Peace Process

ISLAMABAD, Feb 23 (NNN-APP) – Mutlaq bin Majed Al-Qahtani, special envoy of Qatar’s foreign minister for counter-terrorism and mediation of conflict resolution, held talks with Pakistani Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and Chief of Army Staff Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, focusing on the Afghan peace process.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said, Qureshi reiterated, during the meeting with the special envoy that, Pakistan strongly believes in a negotiated settlement, as there is no military solution to the conflict in Afghanistan.

Iran border fence to be complete by December: Pakistan

21 Feb 2021; MEMO: Pakistan said on Saturday that it will have fenced off its volatile border with Iran by the end of this year, a move against terrorism and smuggling, Anadolu Agency reports.

During a visit to the border town Taftan, Pakistan's Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that 40% of the 928 kilometres (576 miles) border has been completed, according to a statement from the Interior Ministry.

Turkey, Pakistan joint military exercise ends

21 Feb 2021; MEMO: A three-week joint military exercise involving Turkish and Pakistani special forces ended on Saturday, Anadolu Agency reports.

The closing ceremony of the drill ATATURK-XI 2021 was held at the Pakistani military's Special Service headquarters in Tarbela, northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkwa province, which borders neighbouring Afghanistan, said a statement from the Pakistan Army.

Pak: President urges France ‘not to entrench discrimination against Muslims into laws’

ISLAMABAD, Feb 20 (APP): President Dr. Arif Alvi on Saturday urged the political leadership of France “not to entrench discriminatory attitude against Muslims into laws” and warned that such steps would lead to serious repercussions in the shape of hatred and conflict.

“You [France] need to bring people together and not to stamp a religion in a certain manner to create disharmony and bias,” he said at an international conference on religious freedom and minorities’ rights.

Pakistan-Turkey joint military exercise “ATATURK-XI 2021” concludes

RAWALPINDI, Feb 20 (APP):The three-week long Pakistan-Turkey joint military exercise “ATATURK-XI 2021” has concluded on Saturday at Terbela.

The troops from Turkish Special forces and Pakistan’s Special Service Group (SSG) participated in the exercise, said a statement of the Armed Forces media wing.

The three weeks long exercise focused on Counter Terrorism operations including Cordon and Search techniques, Built-up Area clearance drills with Combat Aviation support, Hostage Rescue.

Russia steps in, trying to aid stalled Afghan peace process

ISLAMABAD (AP) — With talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban stalled and the new administration in Washington mulling its options, Russia is stepping up efforts to try and find a way forward in the peace process.

Moscow’s emissaries have been making the rounds, visiting regional players and meeting officials and senior Taliban figures — even as a NATO ministerial conference this week concluded that there is no easy solution on how to end Afghanistan’s protracted war.

Russian special envoy arrives in Pakistan for Afghan talks: foreign ministry

ISLAMABAD, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Russian president's special envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov arrived in Pakistan on Friday on a day-long visit for talks on the Afghan peace process, the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan said.

During the visit, Kabulov will call on Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and meet with Pakistan's Special Representative for Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq for exchange of views on the latest developments in the Afghan peace process, a foreign ministry statement said.

Pak: German-assisted Urban Cohesion Hub for Afghan refugees opens in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, Feb 15 (APP): Pakistan and Germany on Monday joined hands to facilitate over 30,000 Afghan refugees and their hosts with integrated services, including health, education, skills training, legal support, and recreational activities through an ‘Urban Cohesion Hub’.

The initiative is aimed at supporting vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, working children, elderly people, youth, and women.
