AYBAK, Afghanistan, May 12 (NNN-ANA) – Former governor of Afghanistan’s central Bamyan province, during the then Afghan government, Mohammad Tahir Zuhair, has surrendered to authorities in the northern Samangan province, provincial Director for Information and Culture, Firuzudin Munib, said today.

Munib said, Zuhair surrendered to security forces in the Dara-e-Suf Bala district, yesterday and has been shifted to the provincial capital, Aybak City.

NEW DELHI, May 12 (Reuters) - India has been placed on a watchlist with a negative outlook by a global aviation leasing watchdog which said it had failed to comply with international aircraft repossession norms after airline Go First was granted bankruptcy protection.

The move by the Aviation Working Group (AWG), a UK-based entity that monitors leasing and financing laws on behalf of planemakers and lessors, could raise leasing costs for Indian airlines and further hurt lessors' confidence in the world's third-largest domestic aviation market.

ISLAMABAD, May 12 (Xinhua) -- The Pakistani rupee has gained a strong recovery after touching a historic low against the U.S. dollar as the greenback was traded at 285.08 rupees in the interbank market on Friday, according to the State Bank of Pakistan.

The U.S. dollar closed at 298.93 rupees on Thursday. On the last working day of the week, the local currency appreciated by 13.85 rupees, or 4.86 percent, against the U.S. dollar, official figures showed.

11 May 2023; MEMO: Pakistan's top court, on Thursday, ordered the authorities to produce the country's former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, before the Court within an hour, Anadolu News Agency reports.

The order comes after Khan was arrested from Islamabad High Court premises on Tuesday, triggering nationwide protests.

According to the sources, all the deceased are civilians, while the injured include policemen and civilians.

KABUL, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Afghan security forces have discovered and seized 94 pieces of different kinds of weapons in eastern region of the war-torn country, said a statement of the Ministry for National Defense released here on Wednesday.

During the search operations, which have covered the eastern region including Nangarhar and Khost provinces over the past couple of weeks, the security forces have found different types of weapons, including several stocks of AKM, AK-47 and the U.S.-made M16 assault rifles, along with thousands of bullets, the statement added.

ISLAMABAD (AP) — Pakistan braced for more turmoil a day after former Prime Minister Imran Khan was dragged from court in Islamabad and his supporters clashed with police across the country. The 71-year-old opposition leader is expected in court later Wednesday for a hearing on keeping Khan in custody for up to 14 days.
