Serbia shows off new Chinese missiles in display of military power

BATAJNICA, Serbia, April 30 (Reuters) - Serbia on Saturday showed off its new Chinese-made surface-to-air missiles and other military hardware purchased from both Russia and the West, as the country seeks to perform a delicate balancing act over Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.

Members of the public and the media were invited to the display at the Batajnica military airfield near Belgrade, where Chinese and French missiles were lined up beside Airbus (AIR.PA) helicopters, Chinese-armed drones and Russian MIG-29 jets.

Montenegro apologizes to Russia for mistakenly reporting about cut of diplomatic ties

BELGRADE, April 19. /TASS/: The Montenegrin Foreign Ministry has apologized in Twitter for reporting earlier about the cutting of diplomatic ties with Russia.

"We apologize to the public for the grave mistake in a report published earlier erroneously announcing that a number of restrictions were put into action, instead of just being mentioned," the ministry’s press service said in a statement on Tuesday night.

North Macedonia orders another six Russian diplomats to leave the country

BELGRADE, April 15 (Reuters) - North Macedonia's Foreign Ministry on Friday ordered six Russian diplomats to leave the country over violations of diplomatic norms, the second such expulsion in less than a month, a statement said.

A diplomatic note has been handed over to Sergey Bazdnikin, Russia's ambassador to Skopje and the diplomats have five days to leave the country, it said.

"The six Russian diplomats in question were engaging in activities contrary to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations," said the statement posted on ministry's website.

According to preliminary results of the Serbian Progressive Party  (SNS) revealed by Vucic, he won between 59-and 61 percent in the elections, while the ruling SNS won 44 percent of parliamentary elections.

BELGRADE, Serbia (AP) — When Russia launched its war, Hungary opened its borders for the tens of thousands of refugees escaping Ukraine. Other refugees have been left with no help in a field in Serbia.

After studying in Hungary for three years, Hasib Qarizada sought asylum there after his native Afghanistan unraveled in chaos last August. But rather than receiving refuge, Hungarian authorities whisked Qarizada over the border six months ago into neighboring Serbia, kicking him out into a country he didn’t even know.
