Xi stresses building world-class military medical universities

CHONGQING, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for building world-class military medical universities, stressing that they should serve the battlefield and troops, and embrace the future.

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks during an inspection at the Army Medical University on Tuesday.

DHAKA, April 25 (Xinhua) -- A Bangladeshi foreign ministry spokesperson Thursday denounced the U.S. State Department's 2023 Human Rights Report released recently, saying the report mostly relied on assumptions and unsubstantiated allegations.

"Some of the inherent and evident biases in the reporting pattern are quite evident," spokesperson Seheli Sabrin said at a press briefing at the foreign ministry here.

Russian troops wipe out Ukrainian UAV production workshop

MOSCOW, April 24. /TASS/. Russian troops destroyed an UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) production workshop of the Ukrainian army over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday.

"Operational/tactical aircraft, missile troops and artillery of the Russian groups of forces destroyed a P-18 panoramic view radar station, an UAV production workshop and a fuel storage facility of the Ukrainian army and struck enemy manpower and military hardware in 117 areas," the ministry said in a statement.

Armenian police arrests people protesting against demarcation with Azerbaijan

YEREVAN, April 25. /TASS/. Armenian police have detained 29 protesters against the transfer of four villages to Azerbaijan and the border demarcation, the police press service said.

According to it, 17 people were arrested in Yerevan, and 12 in the Tavush Region.

USA: Indian-origin man in US shot and killed by San Antonio police

NEW YORK: A 42-year-old Indian-origin man in the US was shot and killed by police in San Antonio after he struck two officers with his vehicle as they were trying to arrest him in connection with an aggravated assault case against a woman.

Sachin Kumar Sahoo was pronounced deceased at the scene after police officer Tyler Turner shot at him on April 21 in San Antonio, a city in Texas.
