KANPUR: In order to give at least one holiday in a week or maximum ten days, there has been rustling up a novel idea in the minds of Anant Dev, senior superintendent of police, Kanpur city.
In a meeting with superintendents of police and circle officers, he apprised them of his plans for day off. This, in his view, will not only help the policemen to take physical rest but also to give them a mental relaxation.
He learnt of the policemen’s psychological agony recently, during a health camp at the Police Lines. The police personnel complained of non-availability of time off. He also asked policemen of their problems in his inspections of the police stations, and found that the grievances were same.
He has now directed the department to roster their work hours on a rotational basis.
