KATHMANDU, Mar 21 (NNN-XINHUA) – Nepali Prime Minister, KP Sharma Oli, on Friday, announced a number of prohibitive measures, including suspension of incoming international flights to Nepal, and long-distance transport operation, amid COVID-19 outbreak.
In an address to the nation on Friday evening, the prime minister announced that, all incoming international flights to Nepal will be suspended, from tomorrow: Mar 22 to Mar 31, and all long-haul transportation services have also been halted from Mar 23.
This is the second round of restrictions announced by the Nepali government, after deciding to close down schools, shopping malls, cinema halls, while banning the assembly of more than 25 people at one place.
The Nepali government also banned all incoming passengers from Europe, the Gulf, West Asia and Iran, from Mar 20 to Apr 15.
Nepal has so far reported a single COVID-19 infection.
The Nepali prime minister, said that, all the services, except essential ones be suspended in all the public, community and private service-providing agencies, from Mar 22 to Apr 3.
