Shahjahanpur (UP), Feb 8 (PTI) A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth of her village when she had gone to answer nature's call, police said on Monday.
Circle Officer of Puwaya, Mahendra Pal, on Monday said that the girl, a resident of a village under the Nigohi police station, on February 4 had gone to relieve herself when the youth of the same village grabbed her, took her to a secluded place and allegedly raped her.
He said that the girl lives with her elder sister-in-law, and her father and brother work in Himachal Pradesh. The girl's father informed police after he reached the village.
Pal said that a case has been registered against the accused youth under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and she has been sent for a medical examination.
