Iran to reduce uranium enrichment to 3.67% if US rejoins nuclear deal: Rouhani

Hassan Rouhani

16 Apr 2021; MEMO: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced on Thursday that his country would limit uranium enrichment to 3.67 per cent if the US rejoins the 2015 nuclear deal and lifts sanctions.

"We will stop uranium enrichment by twenty and sixty per cent if the sanctions on Iran are lifted," Rouhani asserted, stressing that Tehran does not seek to manufacture a nuclear bomb, while all its nuclear activities are "completely peaceful".

"No one has the right to accuse Tehran of seeking to acquire a nuclear weapon while the opposite party is the one who constantly stores and manufactures nuclear bombs," Rouhani expressed.

According to the Iranian president, Iran can start enriching uranium to 90 per cent, but it does not want to pave the way for the manufacture of a nuclear bomb.
