Kanpur: One 22-year-old candidate of Gautam Budh Nagar died while three others were hospitalised during a physical fitness test of aspirants for the post of fire constable in the Central Industrial Security Force here.
The CISF's recruitment process starting on Friday will be completed by September 7, as was reported.
There is reportedly a huge vacancy of 24000 posts of fire constables.
As many as 250 aspirants were summoned to attend the 5-Km run to try out their bodily health.
They fell on the ground during the 5-km run on Polytechnic Road in Auraiya. The run was part of the recruitment drive, said, officials.
The aspirant who lost his life was identified as Gaurav Thakur, 22, of Gautam Buddh Nagar in Uttar Pradesh.
Three others - Nikhil Pawar of Meerut, Ranjeet of Ghatampur (Kanpur) and Satish Yadav of Sukhpura, Ballia were undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bijapur.
They all reportedly tumbled due to the hot sweltering weather.
Circle officer (Sadar) Surendra Nath Yadav said the family of the deceased had been informed and others were being treated. They were asked to run in batches.
The aspirant who died was part of batch number two. Many who were behind him stumbled, fell and got injured.
One injured aspirant told officials how he felt out of breath after completion of half the run and fell. Though the aspirants were warned earlier if they had any problems, they could opt out of the run.
