Kanpur: A seven-year-old girl student got buried under the debris of a dilapidated house on Hirman Ka Purwa coming under Beconganj police station here on Saturday afternoon.
While breaking the slab, a large part of the debris came down suddenly thereby burying a little girl named Maria Farid, d/o who was passing by the corridor after school.
After a struggle of about half an hour, the relatives with the help of local people rescued the girl and took her to a private hospital.
The doctor declared her brought dead. It was shocking for the girl's relatives while the accused landlord fled from the spot.
Having a shop Janta Cooler on the Nai Sadak Anees has been living in Hirman Ka Purwa. Though the local people forbade him to break it during the day. But he did not agree. Hearing the noise, the people of the locality and mother Sana Bano reached at the spot. Seeing this, the labourer and Anees fled from the spot.
On getting the information Ajay Kumar Singh, in charge of Beconganj police station reached there. He said that action would be taken by registering a report against the accused landlord on the complaint of a relative.
