Kanpur: The Kanpur Municipal Corporation engineers have reportedly prepared two files of the same potholed road in Ward 27 (Nankari) under Zone VI.
In one, patchwork is shown and in the other, a road construction diagram with a drain has been shown.
The ward councillor Nirmala Mishra complained to the Chief engineer Manish Awasthi on Wednesday. Whereas, the Municipal Commissioner returned the file.
As the emphasis is being given to the patchwork at this time, therefore the priority centres on the patchwork, said the Chief engineer, adding the matter of two files will be examined thoroughly.
In the Devi Sahai Nagar locality of Ward 27 (Nankari) under zone-six, the road is broken and there are potholes in four different places from Durga Mandir to Gooba Garden main road.
The file of a patchwork of this road was prepared by the engineers of Municipal Corporation Zone-VI. In this file No. 355/A A- 6/2021-22, the estimated cost of patchwork is shown at Rs.56,5750. Engineers of the same zone made another file for the construction of this road named file number - 322/A A- 6/2022-23, as was reported.
In this file, the name of the work has been written on Devi Sahay Nagar's main road to repair the road by the Hotmix plant, which includes the construction of a drain. The estimated cost of this work has been shown as Rs.17,92,202.
What is this manipulation? Municipal Corporation brings two files for the construction of the same road, one billed 5.65 lakh, the other 17.92 lakh.
